A question that we've been hearing a lot is, "Should I Upgrade to Windows 10?" As you may know, free upgrades to Windows 10 will end in just over a week. Here at Photobooth Supply Co, we recommend upgrading your Acer or Surface Pro 3 tablet. If you chose not to, everything that is working smoothly right now will continue to work smoothly. Microsoft will continue to support Windows 8.1 with security updates until 2023. This means that if it's easier to skip the update, you can consider doing so. However, because it's likely that new and appealing software will run exclusively on Windows 10, we suggest that you undertake the upgrade. It's possible that a new social media platform takes the world by storm, or that Windows 10 adds a feature that makes some part of your work process easier. These features would require a costly $100 upgrade in the future, so it's better to be safe than sorry.

Because we suggest the upgrade, we have put together the instructions below to assist you.

Upgrading the Surface or Acer tablets requires only two steps, both of which should be performed multiple days before any event bookings to prevent issues from arising.

First, click on the "Get Windows 10" icon in the system tray on the bottom right corner of your screen.

Second, accept the upgrade by clicking "Upgrade now."

After this, your computer will do the rest for you. If you would like to revert to Windows 8.1 afterwards, you can do so, but it may cause different issues. Again, we do not recommend making this upgrade in the days before a booking. Once you have completed the upgrade, you will need to install a new printer driver.
